History

We are pleased to present a new archive of posters, programs, photographs, articles, and recordings chronicling the many performances which comprise our rich history of musical excellence. BachSoc's storied past serves as an inspiration to current and future performers and guides us to follow the both traditional yet innovative approach of our predecessors in our new season's programming. To our alumni along with those with a general interest in our history, enjoy this collection!

A Special Celebration

BachSoc marked its 50th Anniversary with a special gala weekend in 2004 that included an alumni banquet on Friday, May 6 and a performance at Sanders Theater on Saturday, May 7 as part of Harvard's Arts First Weekend. A summary of the gala weekend's events with a gallery of photographs is available here.

Where are they now?

As one of the only undergraduate-led orchestras in the country, BachSoc has served as a stepping stone for many professional conductors. Find out what our past music directors are up to now!

Help Us Fill In The Blanks

We have no traces of several years, particularly from the 1960s and early 2010s, in our collection. We would be delighted to learn more about these mysterious years—please contact us if you can help!
